Sitting is for our society nowadays what was smoking several years ago. Smoking is definitely out of fashion, and the progressive development of civilization has led to the fact that we sit even for 9-11 hours a day. We sit at work, in the car and at home. Our movement system in the course of evolution was perfectly adapted for bipedal position. Just being in a horizontal position is best nourished all systems of our body.

Sitting position carries with many serious consequences.

The most important among them:

  • weight gain,
  • diabetes,
  • back pain,
  • muscle contractures of the shoulder girdle, hip flexor and knee,
  • worse state of internal organs, which in the sitting position are not triggered to operate by the muscles,
  • loss of bone density,
  • sitting most of the day increases the risk of heart attack by 54%.

The researchers examined that the hour of sports daily does not remove the consequences of the seat for several hours. It is still too big disproportion. The body adjusts to the activity that is dominant.

My suggestion is to perform simple exercises even during our work. Just set your phone alarm every 30-45 minutes, reminiscent of the series of stretches of the spine, arms and legs. Between exercises try to set the limbs in lower position and position of spine should also be changed often. Even sitting in the office can do a lot for our health, and initial forcing movement soon will be a pleasant habit for us.
